When our client tasked us with designing a French country-inspired planting theme around their pool in north Florida, we were excited to take on the challenge. Bringing that elegant, romantic vibe of the French countryside to the warm, subtropical climate of the Sunshine State required some thoughtful planning and plant selection.

After some research and experimentation, we landed on a plant palette encompassing pale pinks, purples, and whites that would thrive in the north Florida conditions and provide season-long color. Hydrangeas were a must-have, and we're thrilled to see the 'Big Daddy' varieties we planted last summer bursting into bloom. The huge, lush flower heads are the perfect focal point, complemented by cascading roses, fragrant rosemary, and delicate gaura.

We love a good challenge, and this French country pool garden was certainly that. But seeing our client's delight in the final product makes it all worthwhile. It's the perfect blend of formal elegance and casual, coastal charm - a true north Florida interpretation of a French country classic.
